The Aftermath
Pictures taken August 10, 2003 during the 140th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.

At the end of the charge to the Union center, hundreds are left on the field.

. .

Many with "blood" stained bandages, the men slowly rise to hobble back to their camps.

. .
. .
General Robert E. Lee stated "The vault is mine" as his men retreated from the last day
of fighting at the Battle of Gettysburg.
General Meade was praised for the decisive defeat of the Confederate Army on northern soil.

Hot and exhausted, the men in this battle all safely march home.  In the real Battle of Gettysburg, 140 years ago, over 6,000 men died, 27,000 were wounded, and 10,000 went missing.
