GETTYSBURG GUIDE GIFT CERTIFICATES NOW AVAILABLE
Gettysburg, Pa. April 21 2008 -- Gettysburg
National Military Park continues to offer gift certificates for two-hour tours
provided by its Licensed Battlefield Guides.
Each year, as the holiday season approaches, the public expresses interest in
purchasing this special gift for a family member or friend who yearns to know more about
the Civil War. The guides are licensed by the National Park Service and must pass a
rigorous testing period of written and oral examinations before they are
certified. A gift certificate purchased for an individual gives them the opportunity
to learn from some of the most knowledgeable experts on the Battle of Gettysburg and
the Civil War.
Gift certificates may be purchased in person at the Gettysburg National Military Park
Visitor Center, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Suite 100, Gettysburg Pa 17325, from Monday through Friday, from 8:00
a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
A variety of certificates are available including $55.00 for 1-6 People, $70.00 for
7-15 People, $105.00 for 16-49 People, usually a bus group, and $140.00 for a large
bus tour with 50 or more passengers. The tours last for two hours and guides go with the
visitors in their vehicles.
Purchasing a gift certificate does not designate that a reservation has been made for
hiring a Licensed Battlefield Guide, it is only a pre-paid service. Guides will
still be available only on a first-come-first-served basis from the park's Visitor Center.
For more information on this new service please contact the park at 717- 334-1124 ext. 470, or inquire in person at Visitor Center.
