Sat 29  6:00 p.m. An Evening with the Painting Join the Gettysburg Foundation’s Sue Boardman, Licensed Battlefield Guide and author/historian, on the platform for an exclusive "after-hours" program of the Gettysburg Cyclorama painting at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center Gettysburg National Military Park

717-338-1243  Visitors will explore the history of the genre of cycloramas and in particular the history of the Battle of Gettysburg Cyclorama. Presentation will include a discussion of the massive multi-year conservation effort of our country's largest painting. The painting concludes with extended time on the platform to view the painting in full light and a journey under the diorama to see how the illusion comes to life. There will be time for a question and answer session.

This special program lasts about two hours and is limited to 40 attendees. Single adult ticket price is $20 and youth ticket (ages 6 to 12) is $10. This program begins in the Ford Motor Company Fund Education Center. Flash photography welcomed.

On this new tour, visitors can hear the stories of the challenges and sacrifices made by the home-dwellers, the noncombatants whose lives were forever changed in July 1863.  

This tour lasts two hours, includes civilian stories from at least ten farms and stops at two farms on the battlefield where visitors can disembark the bus onto the farm property. A value package is offered with the additional purchase of a ticket for the film, A New Birth of Freedom, Cyclorama painting light and sound program and 12-gallery museum experience.

Saturdayday, June 10: Gettysburg Brass Band Festival - Noon-8pm; We’re delighted to host this all day event on our outdoor pavilion, and to sponsor one of the East Coast’s finest bands.

Sunday, Jun. 11: American Songbook 2 - 4pm; Wayne Hill, Michael Matsinko and special guests return, this time presenting the greatest hits of Irving Berlin and Jerome Kern, plus the melodies of WW2.

Sunday, Jul 2: Dearest Home - 6pm; The perfect way to spend Independence Day weekend in Gettysburg: popular music from Civil War times, in the shade of the trees of Schmucker Grove.
