Wed 1 1:00am-3:30am Ghosts/

Paranormal

Investigate the "Devils Hour" Some people consider 3am to be the spirit's time to communicate with us. Others think it's the devil's mark. Some even think that when you wake up at this time, someone is watching you. There are many superstitions for what 3am could be.

While you sleep soundly, you dream. While you dream, you are unaware of your surroundings. Unaware of what could be lurking in the closet, under your bed, beside you in your covers. Your eyes flutter open and you check the time on either your watch, cell phone, alarm clock, or simply whatever you have lying around that has the time displayed on it. But knowing the time doesn't really matter . . . right? You rub your eyes and blink a few times, adjusting to the darkness of your room.

717-420-5441 3 o'clock in the morning is when the little things come out to play. Want to see if all  of this is in fact true? Is the devil mocking the sign of the Trinity as Catholics suggest or a myth? Why do most people in nursing homes die between 3-4am? Is this a coincidence? Come out whlie Gettysburg sleeps and see if the devil is out there or at least a demon or two.... Do you dare? Use all of the normal paranormal equipment to bring them out and a few other tricks. Many people in Gettysburg say they have seen a thick mist that blankets the battlefield and some parts of town and people have seen soldiers walking in this mist. Come see if this is true. Whatever your curiosity, come out and find out what's hiding in the dark.

717-339-2148 The Color Bearers – the men who carried the flags in battle – were among the highest casualties in the Civil War. In just a few minutes during a battle, not just one, two, or three flag-bearers might fall. Instead, a unit might lose five, six, seven, eight – or more – in that short period of time, a grim accounting that would occur on each day of the Battle. The all-important flag signaled a unit’s movement on the battlefield – but it was also the emotional touchstone to home; to the home where a mother, or a sister, or a sweetheart lovingly stitched the banner. It was to be protected at all costs. And frequently, it was. The actions of the color companies to protect their colors were often heroic, usually deadly, and produced some of the most dramatic stories of the Battle. During this presentation, we’ll spend a little time looking at the origins of the battle flag and the various types of flags used by an army but we’ll dedicate the greater part of the presentation to looking at the men -- and the flags they carried -- and hearing their stories. In the afternoon, we’ll tour parts of the battlefield so that we can stand where the flag-bearers stood in battle. And where they once charged across the field, we’ll walk in their footsteps so that we can, as one veteran put it “tread this consecrated ground with reverent step.”

Registration deadline is September 5, 2014. Open to members and non-members, the cost is $70 members and $95 non-members. Optional boxes lunches are available for pre-order at $12 each.
